Four years and four months ago – on January 31 2015 – I left the Netherlands in an old Volkswagen Campervan.
I let go of so many so-called securities all at once, and I went on an inner journey. I was looking for my own wisdom and I didn’t read any self-help or management books.
I wrote in my diary every single day and in doing so, I developed my own vision on life. Now that I am at the end of this journey, I know the answers to my most important questions.
And still I am somewhat frustrated. All this time have been looking for this one sentence that contains everything that I want to share with the world in general and my clients in particular.
I was desperately looking for this perfect marketing pitch.
But I give up.
I have the feeling that there is an essence to the ideas I want to share, but it always eludes me.
It is like a rainbow. When you move towards it, it disappears.
A client (Angela Stoof) told me that Jung calls this the ‘circumambulation’: “I began to understand that the goal of psychic development is the self. There is no linear revolution; there is only a circumambulation of the self”.
You will always circle around the answer to the question that fascinates you, but you will never catch it. The only thing you can do is walk around it, like a religious person around a holy object.
So instead of sharing ONE BIG TRUTH like a religion or a dogma, I am going to share many different sparks with you.
These sparks circle around one centre. This focus point is the question if you focus on security or your soul. If you live a life from trust or from fear.
Every day we have this choice.
Do we listen to our mind, that encourages us to look for security in the outside world: money, a house, routines, relationships that last forever.
Or do we listen to the voices in our soul, that encourage us to step into the unknown, because we are looking for transformation and growth.
There is no good or bad. We all need security. But we also need a purpose: something that gives meaning to our lives and the world around us.
If we don’t have this meaning, we might as well be a machine: doing the same thing everyday just to make sure that there is money and security.
But we are creative creatures. We yearn for challenges. We want to take risks, because they make us feel alive.
So this is what I am going to do. I am inspiring you to listen to the whispers of your soul, so you take action and you create a meaningful live with a positive impact on the world around you.
See? I have found a marketing pitch after all 😉
I will let you know soon how I will share this inspiration with you!
